Under Transport Canada regulations, SCBA cylinders must undergo hydrostatic testing every 5 years. Composite cylinders also have a maximum service life of 15 years from date of manufacture, after which they must be condemned regardless of test history. Cylinders that fail testing or reach end-of-life must be removed from service immediately.
