Fire Protection Technician

We are continuing to grow and are recruiting for a Fire Protection Technician to continue to build on our expertise at our Labrador City Operation.
The ideal candidate would be a high energy;
customer focused team player who possesses experience in a fast-paced industrial
service environment and/or fire protection industry. Knowledge of applicable
Provincial and National Fire Codes, fire alarms, fire suppression systems and
portable equipment inspection, testing and maintenance, as well as familiarity
with computerized scheduling and work order systems would be considered an
asset. Overtime may be necessary; therefore flexibility in hours of work will be
required. The ideal candidate will possess experience in a
warehousing/distribution environment and a familiarity with computerized
warehousing systems. Hair follicle testing and a valid driver’s license is
required.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with the
following qualifications: Provincial Fire Commissioner Permits, College Diploma
and/or Factory Training. Please note that combinations of education and/or
experience will be considered and where appropriate training provided.
Duties
As a key team member in our Atlantic Canadian technical services team, your responsibilities will include the inspection, servicing and maintenance of fixed and portable fire protection, suppression and detection systems and related equipment. As well as general warehouse duties including order picking, receiving and inspection as needed.
Compensation for this position is commensurate with education and experience.
